Trojans stretch their legs

After waiting nearly three weeks to get a competition in due to heat and dry conditions, the Turkey Valley cross country teams were on the course for its second meet in four days. The Trojans competed at Starmont Tuesday night and saw improvements.
In the girls junior varsity race, Hazel Nieman rounded the course in 24:18.19 to take sixth place.
Finishing 25th, Bode Balk stopped the clock at 21:16.84 in the boys JV race. Avery Franzen also competed, turning in a time of 23:36.52, against the other junior varsity runners, good for 74th place.
Russell Nieman toured the course in the varsity boys 5K race in 18:58.94 to bring home 46th place.
Turkey Valley has a week of practice before its next race at Waukon Tuesday, Sept. 19.
