TV boys win big at home

Celebrating senior night, the Turkey Valley boys’ basketball team (4-2, 3-2 UIC) ran past West Central (1-5, 0-4 UIC) Friday night defeating the visitors, 57-38.
Carson Busta got the Trojans off to a good start with a pair of treys in the first quarter, giving TV a 13-8 lead. The Trojan offense really ignited in the second period with 21 points, heading to the locker room on top 34-20. The second half was won by the Trojans who outscored the Blue Devils 23-18.
Dylan Reicks had 20 of the team’s points, along with seven rebounds. Coming off the pine, Caleb Kurtenbach connected for 13 points. Busta had eight points, five steals, four boards and four assists, while Garrett Kurtenbach provided eight points, five steals and two rebounds.
One of the most anticipated games of the season will take place tonight (Tuesday, Dec. 21) as the Trojans visit Calmar to take on South Winn. Turkey Valley will return to action after the holiday break Tuesday, Jan. 4, at Postville.
