Gearing up for the postseason, the Turkey Valley softball team (19-10) shut out Riceville (17-11) on the road Friday, 12-0 in three innings.
All the Trojan runs came in the third inning as Josie Weber twirled for TV, giving up just one hit and fanning two.
Four batters collected doubles for the Trojans including Kara Reicks, Aleah Hackman, Olivia Snyder and Olivia Drilling. Snyder came away with four RBI in the contest, while J. Weber helped her own cause as well with a trio of singles.
Postseason starts Tuesday
The Trojans will travel to Plainfield to battle Nashua-Plainfield in first-round Class 1A Region 6 tonight (Tuesday, July 6), at 7 p.m. A win for Turkey Valley will put the Trojans on the road again, this time to Allison, to battle North Butler Wednesday, July 7, at 7 p.m.
