Vikes drop NEIC dual to Chickasaws

Getting to see the first conference action of the year, the Decorah wrestling team hosted New Hampton Thursday, Dec. 9. At the end of the night, the Vikes fell to the Chickasaws 72-43.
Decorah won six matches against New Hampton. Brady Stille threw Burke Busta in 3:25 at 138 pounds. At 152 pounds, Ben Wymer won a 5-4 decision over Kael Meyer. Following it up with a 5-0 decision was Austin Wilkins over Gavin Rings at 160 pounds. Corbyn Palmer put Ben Tenge’s shoulder blades to the mat in 4:33 at 170 pounds. Throwing Landon Bruess at 106 pounds in 4:59 was Decorah’s Justin Fortman, while Kollin Henry topped Edgar Nunez by a 6-1 decision at 113 pounds.
The Vikings are at Waukon Thursday, Dec. 16, at 7:30 p.m., then travel to Fort Dodge for a tournament Saturday, Dec. 18, at 10 a.m.
