Vikes on four-game win streak

The Decorah boys’ basketball team is on roll, this time the Vikes (10-5, 5-3 NEIC) bested New Hampton (7-10, 3-5 NEIC) in NEIC action Friday night, 88-59.
Playing at home, Decorah took control early on. The Vikes went up 12-6 midway through the first period and led 22-18 at the end of the quarter. It remained a close battle throughout the second period, with Decorah up 38-35 at the half. Decorah continued to play tough going up by 10 at the end of the third, 55-45. The fourth quarter was when the Vikes put the game away, scoring 33 points.

   The Vikes were led by Ben Bockman, who scored 23 points. Three other Decorah players were in double figures including Matthew Bockman who put up 15. Ethan Holthaus and Andrew Rhodes both contributed 10.
   Decorah has just one contest this week as the Vikes will travel to Waukon Friday, Feb. 3.
