Vikes play hard in loss to W-SR

Facing the always-tough Go-Hawks, the Decorah volleyball team (6-5, 1-1 NEIC) fell in four sets to Waverly-Shell Rock (6-12, 2-0 NEIC) at home Tuesday night. Set scores were 17-25, 19-25, 25-20 and 18-25.
“We had to make a lineup change for this match and our kids adjusted and played well. We just continue to dig ourselves a hole and have to dig out of it — something to continue to work on,” said Coach Gina Holthaus.
Unofficial stats showed Maddy Fromm with 12 kills, 12 assists and a pair of ace serves. McKinley Massman provided 10 kills, while Brooklyn Fromm had five. There for three kills was Sydney Kipp. Coming up with 17 digs was Ellie Rolfs, with Dylin Thompson dishing out 13 assists.
Decorah has a week to regroup and practice before traveling to New Hampton for another conference match Tuesday, Sept. 19, at 7:15 p.m.
