Vikes step out of NEIC play for victory

By Becky Walz,

Taking on a familiar opponent outside the Northeast Iowa Conference, the Decorah girls’ basketball team (11-2, 5-0 NEIC) more than doubled up on MFL MarMac (8-5, 6-3 UIC) Monday night, 57-25, in Monona.
The Vikes controlled the tempo of the non-conference game from start to finish taking a commanding 24-3 lead after the first eight minutes. By halftime Decorah’s lead had been extended to 44-13. The Red and Blue had slower than normal scoring in the second half but maintained the comfortable advantage for the victory.
