In two meets to start the week the Decorah girls’ golf team continued to lower their season-best team score.
Double dual
Hitting the links at the Cresco Country Club, the Vikings toured the course with Waukon and Crestwood Monday night. Waukon was the best of the night with 388 strokes, with Crestwood firing a 433. Decorah concluded the night with a season-best score of 487.
Medalist of the meet was Waukon’s Emily Clark with a 92.
Annika Lensch had the low score for Decorah with a 105. Other Viking scores were Lexie Hauber, 121; Jane Murphy, 130; Brooke Norby, 131; and Hope Stahl, 135.
At home
Tuesday, the Vikings hosted Waverly-Shell Rock in a conference dual at Silvercrest Golf and Country Club. On the par-36 course, the Go-Hawks bested the home squad 210 to 242.
Medalist of the meet was Brenna Bodensteiner of W-SR with 49, with her teammate Payton Schwartz was runner-up with a 53.
Topping the Decorah squad with a 55 was Annika Lensch. Senior Jane Murphy fired a 61, with sophomore Hope Stahl right behind with a 62. Completing the Viking scorecard was Lexie Hauber with a 64. Brooke Norby also competed, finishing the day with a 67.
Rest of the week
The Vikings will close the regular season next week after visiting New Hampton Thursday, May 6 for a double dual with the Chickasaws and Oelwein. Decorah will be at the Ma Cal Grove Country Club Monday, May 10.
