Vikings pull out win over Wahlert

It was a thriller at Dubuque Wahlert (1-9) Monday as the Decorah boys soccer team (9-2) picked up the win in a shoot-out, 4-3.
In regulation, Jeramiah Rediske put the lone goal in the back of the net for the Vikes. After two overtime periods and the score tied 1-1, the game came down to a shoot-out between Decorah and the Golden Eagles. Scoring in the shoot-out for the Vikes were Jimmy Valdez, Lincoln, Bishop, Ian Giddings and Rediske for the win. In goal for Decorah was Caleb Meyer.
The Vikes are at the Waverly-Shell Rock tournament Saturday, May 6. They will face South Tama in the first game at 10:30 a.m.. The second game will be against Dever at 1:30 p.m. They are then off until Friday, May 12, when Decorah hosts West Delaware at 6:30 p.m.
