Vikings take care of business

Friday night, the Decorah boys’ basketball team (12-1, 6-0 NEIC) hosted Crestwood (5-10, 1-5 NEIC) with the Vikes dominating the floor for the 65-48 victory.

Friday night, the Decorah boys’ basketball team (12-1, 6-0 NEIC) hosted Crestwood (5-10, 1-5 NEIC) with the Vikes dominating the floor for the 65-48 victory.
The two squads kept the score close throughout the first half with Decorah leading 15-8 after the opening eight minutes. The Vikes opened up a 26-17 lead by halftime and added to the advantage in the third to make it 44-33 with a period to play.
Noah Storts put up 19 points while Carson Wemark had 14. Ben Bockman came off the bench  to provide a spark with 12 points.
The Vikings host Denver Tuesday, Jan. 25, in a non-conference contest to start their three-game week. Friday, Jan. 27, Decorah will be at New Hampton before finishing the week at Dyersville Beckman Saturday, Jan. 29.
