Saturday, the Vikings competed in the Bob Murphy Invite at West Delaware. Decorah finished sixth in team score with 128.5 points. West Delaware was the team champion with 294 points.
Decorah had two grapplers stand atop the medal podium. Kolin Henry went 3-0 to win the title at 113 pounds. First, he threw Lucas Ragsdale of Dike-New Hartford in 59 seconds. In the semifinals, he took 1:59 to pin Keaton Kruse of Central DeWitt. It was an 8-6 decision over Red Oaks’ Brandon Erp in the finals.
Brady Stille was the other winner. At 138 pounds, Stille picked up a win in the quarterfinals by throwing Owen Neuhaus of the West Delaware JV team in 38 seconds. In the semifinals, he threw Klayton Adams-Blackdeer of North Butler-Clarksville in 1:09. Stille took 2:42 to pick up a 16-0 tech fall over Carson Turnis of West Delaware.
Decorah hosts New Hampton/Turkey Valley Thursday, Dec. 9, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday they compete at the South Winn Invite beginning at 10 a.m.
