Wagner takes high jump gold at Hudson

It was a cold night on the track for the South Winn girls track team Tuesday night as the Warriors competed at the Hudson Relays a day later than scheduled due to the snow that impacted northeast Iowa Monday.
Overall, the Warriors lit up the oval, placing fourth out of 16 teams with 74 points. AGWSR was the overall champion with 102 points.
The Warriors had one winning event, two others win silver and three take bronze.
Abby Wagner brought home two individual honors. The sophomore breezed over the high jump bar at an even 5 feet for gold. She also earned third in the long jump with a best leap of 14 feet 8.25 inches.
Freshman Maddy Jansen had a good day, finishing second in the 400-meter dash in 1:03.41. Billie Wagner was the over runner-up in the 1500-meter run. The senior stopped the clock at 5:10.21.
Along with A. Wagner with bronze was Megan Hageman in the 800-meter run in 2:30.67. In the shuttle hurdle relay it was Josie Hageman, Gabby Becker, Izzy Kuboushek and Aubrey Willey in third with a time of 1:19.94.
The Warriors will be at North Fayette Valley Friday, April 21, at 4:30 p.m., then are off until Thursday, April 27, when the compete at Crestwood beginning at 4:30 p.m.
