Hailey Riehle highlighted the night with a 10-for-10 serving performance with an ace. At the net it was Katrina Hageman and Abby Wagner making their mark with five and four kills, respectively. K. Hageman also led the team with two solo blocks and nine digs. Dishing out seven assists was Avery Luzum.
In the second match of the night, South Winn was once again close in the first set, 25-19, and fell in set two 25-11.
“We knew going in we would see some high-level volleyball with both teams having some dynamic hitters and servers. Overall, I was really pleased with our passing and ability to run our offense. At times we got caught in our serve receive and defensively against their strong play but worked our way through some adversity and settled in during some of the tougher moments in the matches. I really like the progression we are making and look forward to a week of more development before we head to Cresco next Thursday,” said Coach Alex Smith.
