Warrior trio commit Iowa Central College

By Becky Walz,

South Winn Class athletes Cael Kuboushek, Jacob Herold and Dominic Sisneros recently announced their intentions to continue their football and academic careers at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge this fall.

“I’m happy for all three of our guys and their families. It is stressful enough going through a traditional recruitment process. Missing out on summer camps and delaying campus visits due to COVID-19, only make it much more of a challenging process. Each of these young men did a great job of staying patient and doing what they could to make a name for themselves,” said South Winn Coach Jason Ohrt. “I think it is kind of neat that they all chose the same school in Iowa Central. I’m excited for them to get the opportunity to continue on with their football careers at the next level and wish them all the best.”

Kuboushek currently plans to have a general plan of study as he competes in a Triton uniform at the wide receiver position who saw a football staff who was close and fun to be around. He is the son of Jeff and Charity Kuboushek.

“It was a happy medium of being close to home in a two-year college with the feel of a four-year university,” Kuboushek added.

Herold is looking forward to studying business and step into a quarterback role at Iowa Central. He is the son of Alvin and Wendy Herold.

“I was impressed with all of the coaches with a football program that is on the rise and I wanted to be part of it,” said Herold of his decision to choose Iowa Central over others.

Also looking to fill a wide receiver slot with a program he felt had lots of energy and comradery, Sisneros intends to complete his general education studies. He is the son of Anthony and Amanda Sisneros.
