By Becky Walz,
A host of South Winn football players were honored by being named all-district in Class A District 3.
In total, four athletes were named first team and three were honorable mention.
First team
The quartet of Tristen Bodensteiner, Braiden Todd, Kyle Kuboushek and Carson Streeter were named to the Class A District 3 First Team for Offense for their efforts on the Warrior gridiron.
Bodensteiner, a senior, is recognized for the second time as on offensive lineman. He was part of a contingent that aided South Winn to score 31 rushing touchdowns and seven passing TDs as the Warriors racked up over 3,000 yards of total offense.
Calling out the signals this season, Todd gets his nod at the quarterback position for South Winn. Last season he was a Defense Second Team honoree. The junior was 34-for-61 in passing for 553 yards with five scores, fifth-best in the district. He also averaged 7.5 yards a carry on the ground with eight touchdowns as he held on to the pigskin 64 times for 479 yards.
For the second time in his career, Kuboushek earned a first team nod. The junior was recognized on offense this year opposed to defense a year ago. He had 176 carries for 963 yards this season as he shouldered the brunt of the rushing duties, scoring 13 times.
Streeter earned several different honors on the first team during his junior campaign, including his wide receiver/tight end position where he caught 26 passes for 430 yards, averaging 16.5 yards per reception and scored four times. He also rambled 459 yards on 36 carries for another six TDs. On the flip side of the ball, Streeter was the Special Teams MVP and first team kicker with 42 kick offs for 2,092 yards with eight touchbacks and was 30-for-33 in PATs. Streeter punted 12 times for 393 yards. He returned 12 kick offs for 347 yards, one for a touchdown, along with a pair of punt returns for 25 yards.
Honorable mention
Three Warriors were named to the honorable mention list — Ray Lienau, Logan Tieskoetter and Eric Greve.
Lienau and Tieskoetter were given the nod for their efforts on the offensive line which helped the Warriors score 38 total touchdowns and gain 3,030 total yards of offense during the 2024 campaign.
Greve, a defensive back, was fourth on the Warrior roster in total tackles with 35.5 total stops with 31 solo tackles and four interceptions.
