Warriors, Trojans stretch their legs at Cresco

In a smaller meet, the South Winn and Turkey Valley boys’ and girls’ cross country teams competed at the Crestwood Invite Saturday morning.

   In a smaller meet, the South Winn and Turkey Valley boys’ and girls’ cross country teams competed at the Crestwood Invite Saturday morning.

Warrior results
   The South Winn girls, ranked No. 2 in Class 1A, earned fourth in the team standings with 93 points. Sumner-Fred won the meet with 52 points, with New Hampton second with 54 and Crestwood third with 55.
   South Winn had an average time of 24:00 and total spread of 4:46.
   Josie Tieskoetter garnered eighth place in 22:04.37. Maddi Jansen came in 19th in 23:07.33 with Ella Willey on her heels in 23:14.69 to take 20th. Taking 22nd in 23:26.41 was Anna Dietzenbach. Katie Shimek posted a personal record time of 24:38.55 to compete the team score in 29th place. Izzy Kuboushek and Aubrey Willey also competed for the Warriors. Kuboushek earned 30th in 24:39.56, while A. Willey finished in 26:50.77, good for 39th place.
   The boys’ team was also fourth, posting 85 points behind New Hampton, Crestwood and Postville. The Warriors had an average time of 20:22 and spread of 3:28.
   Leading the way was Hunter Wagner. He earned 11th in 19:02.26. Abe Conway had a good day. The junior clocked in at 19:12.12, a personal record time, taking 14th. In 15th was John Donovan in 19:27.22. Touring the course in 20:19.89 for 22nd place was Brad Dahl. Rounding out the team score in 20:34.42 to take 24th place was Dawson Wenthold. Also competing in the varsity race were Chase Adam (34th, 21:29.22) and Max Moonen (37th, 22:30.32).

TV harriers compete
   Two Trojans were on the course for varsity races.
   Freshman Morgan Wenthold toured the Cresco course in 23:51.23, earning herself 26th place. 
   Bode Balk posted a personal record time of 20:56.96 in the varsity boys’ race to take 27th place overall.

At home
   South Winn will host their annual invite Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 5 p.m., at the South Winn Golf & Country Club with both the Warriors and Trojans set to compete in the final regular season meet of the year.
