Week four goes to Vick

By Becky Walz,

With week four of the Pigskin Picks contest in the books, it was a three-way tie for first with two incorrectly guessed games that came down to both the first and second tie-breakers.
Decorah’s Curtis Vick and Ryan Busta of Fort Atkinson were both three away from the first tie-breaker. Mabel-Canton scored the most points of any one team with Vick guessing 62 and Busta 56. It came down to the second tie-breaker of the highest combined score of one game which was the overtime game between Turkey Valley and Tripoli at 78. Vick’s guess of 80 was the closest earning him the top prize for week four, while Busta guess of 92 placed him second. Third place went to Laura Lechtenberg of Calmar, also missing two games, but guessing 67 in the first tie-breaker.
Most commonly missed games were Decorah falling to Marion, Illinois State over UNI and Crestwood besting Clear Lake.
