Whitsitt, Storhoff combine for 47 points

While seven athletes scored, Yazmeen Whitsitt and Claire Storhoff could have single-handedly defeated the Chickasaws Friday night where the Decorah girls’ basketball team (5-3, 3-0 NEIC) won 80-39 over New Hampton (2-6, 0-2 NEIC).
Decorah kicked off the game with a 14-6 first quarter advantage, a lead that would double by halftime to 39-19. In the second half, the Vikes outscored the Chickasaws 41-20.
Whitsitt, a senior, put up 27 points in the contest, along with three steals, while C. Storhoff added 20 more points from the floor to go with four steals. Brooklyn Fromm just missed double figures with nine points, adding four boards and four assists. Gabby Dixon provided eight points and eight rebounds.
Tuesday, the Vikes were at Waukon in NEIC action and will travel to Hudson Thursday, Dec. 21, for a non-conference tip-off at 6 p.m.
