JJ Roos, 63, of Ossian, was riding in the passenger seat with Numedahl. Numedahl reportedly exited a farm field using a field drive to access 155th Avenue. Numedahl turned left out of the field drive to head north. Numedahl got too close to the shoulder on the east side of the road. There wasn’t much shoulder, and the road dropped to a steep ditch. It is possible, due to the weight of the truck, the shoulder gave out. The truck entered the east ditch and rolled onto its passenger side. Roos was driven by private vehicle to Winneshiek Medical Center emergency room for shoulder pain. According to the official report, the farm field, owned by Lance Tieskoetter of Castalia, may have experienced an estimated $1,000 in damage, depending on how the truck was towed the next afternoon. Attempts to recover silage were made. Damages to the vehicle Numedahl was driving were estimated at $40,000.

Dale Lepa, 60, of Cresco, was cited for operating a non-registered vehicle following an accident on County Road B33 June 28. Lepa was driving a motorcycle west on B33 when it hit a patch of gravel on the roadway, causing the driver to lose control and enter the ditch. Upon entering the ditch, Lepa was ejected from the motorcycle. He was transported to the Cresco Hospital for suspected injuries. Damages totaled $3,000 to the motorcycle.

He lost control of the vehicle, entering the east ditch. The side or curtain airbags were deployed when he entered the ditch. The vehicle became stuck in water/mud. Bullerman fled the scene prior to law enforcement arrival. Bullerman later made admission to consuming alcohol prior to the accident, possessing alcohol in the cooler(s) in the bed of the truck, not wearing his safety belt and being distracted at the time of the accident. Damages to his vehicle were estimated at $5,000.
