Lady Trojans runners-up twice

Temps in the 70s, the sun shining and light breeze blowing set the perfect stage for track and field teams to compete at Sumner-Fred Monday night.
The girls finished second at the Blue and Gold Relays with 144 points, with Sumner-Fred winning the team title with 162 points. The TV boys collected 47 points, good for sixth place as Tripoli won the division with 152 points.
Tuesday night, the Trojan girls were back at it, competing in Guttenberg in an invite hosted by Clayton Ridge.

Blue and Gold Relays
In total, the TV teams won four gold medals Monday night.
The Trojan girls brought home three titles. Jalyssa Blazek was the champion of the 800-meter run, stopping the clock at 2:30.41.
The junior also anchored two relays to gold. Blazek started the night with Kara Reicks, Clare Courtney and Olivia Snyder on the sprint medley team, winning in 1:57.14. In the 4×800 relay it was Josie Weber, Jaycie Byrne and Cambree Kruse joining Blazek for a winning time of 10:19.93.
It was Chase Hayek, Dylan Reicks, Noah Hanson and Kalvin Langreck combined for a winning time of 8:51.39 in the 4×800. Later it was Hanson, Langreck, Reicks and Marcus Herold breaking the tape in the 4×200 relay in a time of 1:36.96.

Girls’ only
Back on the track Tuesday, the Lady Trojans once again finished second to the Sumner-Fred Cougars at the Clayton Ridge girls invite. This time TV scored 111 points to comparison to S-F’s 126.
Similar to Monday, the TV girls claimed four top spots at Guttenberg.
Blazek was a two-time individual champion as she broke the tape in 1:01.53 of the 400-meter dash and the 800-meter run in 2:34.46. The junior was also a member of the winning sprint medley along with Kara Reicks, Olivia Snyder and Jaycie Byrne. The quartet sprinted to victory in 1:58.66.
Also victorious was the 4×100 relay of Reicks, Snyder, Clare Courtney and Kylie Wurzer. The foursome combined for a time of 54.95 seconds.

The TV boys have two more meets this week, including an invite at Clayton Ridge tonight (Thursday, April 29) at 4:30 p.m., and at Starmont Friday, April 30, at 4:45 p.m.
The Lady Trojans will also compete Friday, April 30, at North Butler beginning at 4:30.
Monday, May 3, both squads will be at South Winn at 4:30 p.m.
