Robust opposition had the Decorah girls’ track and field team competing to improve times Thursday as the Vikes participated in the Wahawk Invitational at Waterloo West. Cedar Rapids Prairie took home the team crown with 132 points, while Dubuque Hempstead was the runner-up with 111. Decorah was two points out of third with 100.
In spite of the level of competition, the Vikings had two events win gold and four others claim silver.

Taking second were Julia Alberts in the discus (115’4”), Buresh in the 100-meter dash (12.66), McKenzie Riley in the 400-meter dash (1:02.57) and the shuttle hurdle relay of Autumn Schaller, Sydney Kipp, Anya Lovstuen and Kallie Mincks (1:10.43).
